Netflix: Is an American streaming service provider, providing films and Tv programs from original content to licensed products. It was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph where films and were mailed to the customer and expected to be mailed back to a return address after a set period of time. The business is subscription-based model. As of January 2019 Netflix, has over 139 paid million subscriptions worldwide. It is available all over the world except China (who has their own alternative) Syria, North Korea, Iran and Crimea. Netflix is also a member of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).
Netflix started in America to rival Blockbuster and has a yearly revenue of $15.794 billion as of 2018 and offers its service in 190 countries with 139 million subscriptions and 148 million subscriptions in total including trials. The company also employs 5,400 people.
Netflix has many subsidiaries including; DVD.com, Millarworld, LT-LA, ABQ Studios, Netflix PTE, Netflix services UK, Netflix streaming services international, Netflix streaming services Global, Netfix services Germany, GMBH, NetflixCS, Netflix Luxemboug, Netflix studios, Netlfix Entretenimento Brasil LTDA.
Netflix produces a variety of their own productions like The Crown, Stranger things and house of cards, Orange is a new Black, Bojack Horseman and Narcos but also distributes films like Roma, Okja, My Happy Family, Tramps and many more. These shows and movies have won a variety of awards like Roma which won several Oscar nominations. Roma won best picture, director, original screenplay and best foreign language film at the academy awards. They have also won some Emmy awards like best documentary or nonfiction special and best supporting actor in a drama series and best writing for a comedy series.
The companies' brand is something of Trendy and modern which tries to provide a high-quality service which is mainly aimed at teens and young adults who are more attracted to demand instead of terrestrial television. The service also relies a lot on binge watching were customers might watch a whole full series in a few days instead of watching an episode when it comes out, they can watch the entire show in one sitting.
